TOP FIVE Apologies Akio Toyoda Has Yet to Make
By Shannon Corder
Toyota President and CEO, Akio Toyoda, visited China this week to apologize for sticky accelerators and faulty break pedals. This is on the heels of formal apologies in both the US and Japan. It seems like there’s a lot of "I'm sorry" going on, but new information if coming forward that suggests the car recalls are just the tip of the iceberg. Here is a list of other alleged infractions Toyoda has yet to apologize for: 1. Designing 2005 Corolla with extremely uncomfortable seatbelts. 2. Stepping on toes of Riko Fujimoto, opera patron, on the way to back his chair after a bathroom break during a viewing of The Mikato. 3. Forgetting his mother’s birthday, January 6, 1972. 4. Driving by house of Takanobu Ito, CEO of Honda, and mooning him. 5. Letting down The American People by breaking the sacred vows of his marriage.
