TOP FIVE Ways to Start the Year Off Well
by reclusive and elusive dream maker, Chase Gordon. 1. Make New Year's resolutions that are fun to keep. Forget about resolving to lose weight or saving more money. Resolve to eat more chocolate, find cooler places to hang with your friends, and make your office smell better. 2. Spend more time and energy on your OUTER circle. Sure, your BFFs come first, but you probably don't appreciate how much your friends' friends' friends make a difference in your life. Studies show they contribute as much if not more to your happiness than your close friends. They are also more likely to hook you up with a job, a lover, hot tickets, or a cool apartment than your closest friends just because there are so many more of them in your life. You don't have to invite them over for a pajama party, but don't just let them linger on your facebook page. Make a little extra effort to let them know you care. 3. Someone you know has a secret crush on you. If though you're not that into them, improve your karma and be extra kind to them anyway. Not sure who has this secret crush? Just take your best guess. Your kindness will generate rewards beyond your expectations. 4. Try a YES day and a NO day. Pick 2 days before the end of January to try a little experiment. On one day, you must say "yes" to every reasonable request. On the other day, you must say "no" whenever you can. See which day is easier, which day is more fun, which day is more surprising, which day makes you feel stronger, which day is more exciting, and which day gets you closer to living life the way you want to live it. 5.
