Reasons Why August Ain't So Bad

your summer glass might be mostly empty -- or "barely a smidge full" -- but the pollyannas at LDI are glad to tell you why the end of summer isn't the end of the world.

1. Time
look at the calendar -- there are still a couple weeks until this summer is toast. and you little procrastinators always make miracles when you're down to the wire. so the best is yet to come...

2. Weather
unless you live in juneau, alaska, it's freaking hot wherever you are. and honestly, the folks in juneau think it's pretty hot right now, too. for them, it's relative. for the rest of us, it's beach time!

3. Olympics
you can't always say this about august, but THIS august, we've got world-class entertainment hitting the airwaves on 8/8/08. we at LDI are especially psyched about swimming and gymnastics!

4. Produce
ripe nectarines, plums, peaches, and cherries are hitting stores and farmers' markets by the bushel -- which makes for brimming bellies and supersweet sangria.

5. Shopping
summer clearances are rolling out and new fall fashions are around the corner. admit it: that's fun.
